Alexander Gassauer
Founder and owner of KORA HOSPITALITY
As a hotelier in 14. Generation, the hotel business literally runs in his veins. His family has been involved in hospitality since 1603.
After graduating from the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, Alexander Gassauer was drawn to life abroad and learned to master his trade in the world’s most renowned hotels: Le Richmond, Geneva; Hospiz on the Arlberg; Carlton in Johannesburg; Intercontinental in Tehran, Kabul and Vienna as well as the Bristol in Vienna.
His first management experiences were gained at the Hotel Panhans on the Semmering and the Grand Hotel de l’Europe, Bad Gastein.
He was to then shift to Starwood Hotels and Resorts where he would spend the next 30 years of his outstanding career that began at the Sheraton Heliopolis,Cairo, Egypt and led to subsequent positions at the Sheraton Damascus, Syria; Castillo Son Vida, Mallorca; openings in Sheraton Luxor, Sheraton Gulf, Qatar; Four Points, Dubai, UAE; Sheraton Club des Pins Algiers, Algeria and Sheraton Tunis.
He reached the peak of his career as Area Manager in Nigeria where Alexander Gassauer oversaw the management of six hotels and four projects.
In parallel to his work experience, Alexander Gassauer has graduated from a number of training courses at Cornell University, USA and INSEAD, France.
